Metamorphosis Event was a HUGE Success!

Thank you to everyone who took time out of your busy schedules, to join us last Saturday for our Re-Opening of the club & sim! Your support is, as always greatly appreciated. We hope you enjoyed yourselves, and that the music & build met with your approval.

Thank you VERY much to our DJ's played. You all were phenominal, and definately on your "A" games. Your friendships & talents are true treasures, and we thankful & blessed you share them with us.

Aside from the few small glitches that all events usually have (most of ours were SL related performance problems)&the noob asshat who tried to mow us all over in the jeep & kill my chickens, I hereby deem the 'Metamorposis" event a HUGE Success!

I'm not sure how many people actually attended through out the evening but our traffic was less than 800 before we started th event, and after it was up to 10,000. HOORAY!

Thanks again everyone, you all truly make it worth our while, and remind us exactly why we do what we do, and for whom.

Foul Attack on Foul at Southern Cross

A violent bird on bird attack occurred today, that resulted in the slaying of one sionChicken.
The victim was a sionChicken named ANTIPASTO, who was maintained & cared for in his carefully crafted prim pen, where he happily co-existed within his cyberspace constraints for 3 weeks.

The perpetrator was a sibling, a sionhchicken named DINNER, who accosted the peaceful Mr. Antipasto in a what seems to be a flailing enraged fit of cyber testosterone. The senseless & brutal flogging scuffle caused ANTIPASTO serious bodily injury, which lead to him eventually succumbing to his wounds. A truly untimely demise.

This type of injustice, the slaying of one brother by the beak of another, can only be compared to that of a similar story that's found in the Holy Bible. In the book of Genesis, Cain & Able, were Adam and Eve's first & second sons, and Cain killed his brother Able, in fit of anger, as well.Both stories bear painful endings.

ANTIPASTO's loving owner, Mikayla Basevi was quoted as saying:

" I was really shocked to log on this morning and receive an offline message from ANTIPASTO that stated: The object 'sionChicken rev2' has sent you a message: I (ANTIPASTO) died because of another chicken! It was almost as if he knew he wasn't long for this world, and cried out to me for help, but I was too late. Upon further investigation,I stumbled across his decomposing prim body. He lay there lifeless, as if someone had scripted him to do so. I hope he fought like hell! He was a good chicken and will always be remembered for his incessantly annoying clucking, his expensive eating habits, and his complete and utter ability to single handidly lag out the entire sim. We are deeply saddened by this loss, Southern Cross has always been a peaceful, fun-loving place where everyone gets along. Now, if you will please excuse me...(SOBS)".

Rest in cyber peace, dear ANTIPASTO, Neo and Trinity will guide you safely on your journey to the "Eternal Matrix". The Oracle awaits...

"Metamorphosis" - Club & Sim Re-Grand Opening Event @ Southern Cross

Come & check us out on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 2pm-10pm slt for our "Metamorphosis" Event! Southern Cross will be unveiling our new club build, on our new sim. We have a full day of some of Second Life's finest DJ's, who will be showcasing their talents for us.

In an effort to give our patrons a full visual & auditory experience, we will be setting the sim's environment settings to a new setting for each DJ, thus making our event 'feel' as it would in Real Life, if we attended an all day event such as this.

8 hours...8 DJ's....8 different sim time settings.

GIANT CHICKEN RAMPAGE!

Hello All,

Happy After Hallo-weird to ya! Hope everyone is well and not too beer or candy bloated from the weekends holiday festivities. Just a quick post of today's "Twin & Mik Sim Mayhem" on this lovely sunday afternoon.

Those of you that know me well, know that I have recently developed a serious addiction to clicking "Midnight Maddness" boards. I've gotten so bad with them lately that Artfull & Twin, are discussing staging an intervention for me. :S I am constantly annoying them with " Ohh..I'll be right back...gotta go click..TP me back in just a sec.". BRB, BRB, BRB, seems to be my M.O. these days.

For those that don't know what MM boards are, it's a way for shops & sim owners to gain legit traffic numbers. They place an item in the boards to be given away, with a target number - say 100, and if 100 people come and click that board before midnight slt time, then everyone who clicked that board all get the prize that is given away. Fun times. 95% of it is total crap that is given away, but every now & again you get some real gems. Hey, if it's FREE, it's for ME! \o/

Thus, brings us to today's post about "GIANT CHICKEN RAMPAGE". Meet my new favorite friend "Chicken Little". Only Chicken Little...isn't sooo little. He infact is almost taller than the new Southern Cross Club.

Twin has been having problems all morning with his WiFi and has been crashing in and out of SL, so on one of his crashes, I decided that I wanted to rez and take a look at this "giant chicken with super engine" car thingy that I had won on MM. Once I rezzed "CL" I could not see a dang thing, my entire computer screen filled up with this huge chicken ass & feathers, and I had to cam zoom all the way out to even be able to see what was going on. Once, I could distinquish which end was up on this thing, I climbed aboard and sat in the drivers seat.

About this same time, I see Twin log back into SL, and on my scanner he was about 40m ahead of me. Now in the drivers seat, the cam view automatically changed on it's own, into a view from the back of the seat, now I could really see nothing but the brown wood texture of the seat. I 'gently' tapped my up arrow once, to possibly move mr. chicken forward wee bit, and the sucker took off like a bat out of hell. I had no idea what was happening.

All of a sudden, I see the back of Twin's head, and his little arms flailing on my screen, as I must have mowed him over and he was tossed up onto the "beak/hood" of my mobile, while I caught wicked mad air and shot up over the mountains. We kept going, flying through the air, across to the other side of the island & didn't stop until we slammed against the sim border & landed into the water. Poor Twin, I hit him hard from behind & he never even saw it coming, because he was too lagged to tell what was going on. It looked like we were moving in slow motion, nothing but Twin's flapping arms in view, then blue water. And all of this from one small tap of the arrow key.

Needless to say, I laughed so hard I was crying, and Twin still didn't know what happened, as it took him almost 5 minutes to respond to my "Omg Twin, I am soooo sorry" IM, as I left him stranded & drowning underneath the ocean.

Moral of the story: Watch your lagging back on Southern Cross Sim.
